Description

This original adobe farmhouse from Oszkó, built in 1901, has become available for sale, which still preserves its unadulterated charm, with an area of almost 3200m2. The size of the two residential properties can be extended with the floor area of the former outbuildings. The dry building has electricity, a period furnace and wood-beamed ceilings. Gas mains are outside the property, water and sewage are piped into the property. A dug well is available for those who are thinking of farming and gardening.
Part of the village's population still lives from agriculture, partly in the cooperative based on the farmstead and partly in newly established family farms. Most of the employees go to work in Vasvár, Szombathely and Sárvár, while the local school, kindergarten, old people's home, a wood mill, a small shoe factory and a cherry factory provide work.
The cultural life of the village is determined by two associations with a long history, the Rozmaring theatre group and the Hegypásztor Kör (Mountain Shepherd Circle), which jointly organise the village holidays, above all the village festival and the national holidays. The Mountain Shepherd's Circle was originally set up to protect the vineyard's folk monuments, but nowadays it also organises village tourism and runs a telehouse. The main attractions include the medieval parish church, which has been rebuilt several times, and the vineyard press houses, but also the World War memorials, the cemetery memorial and the 19th and 20th century roadside stone crosses.
